Dearest Family and Friends, Thank you so much for thinking of me on my 19th birthday!

One (1) hour of 16mm shot at 24 frames per second equals 2,160 feet. 16mm comes in 400 foot rolls which come out to $120 with discount: so about $650 for film alone. Then with post-production, the film negatives must be converted to digital data, edited, as well as master positives, dupe negatives, and... basically the post production can be upwards of $3000 for a 10 minute senior film. These prices are current as of May 2005 when my boss made his senior film.
For my junior and senior films I will be spending more than $5,500 on the film and processing alone. This doesn't include the cost of transportation, food, props, etc., that occur when making a film. (And I haven't even began to calculate the cost for my sophomore film assignments.)

That is why I have began saving for my filmmaking endeavors my freshman, with already $200 in the bank (plus an amazing $0.04 interest a month)! With your help, we can put my film aspirations on the screen. Any amount, from a George Washington to a Benjamin Franklin, will receive a credit at the end of my junior and senior films.
